You may have heard or even watched one or two episodes of Lost in Space and have instantly fallen in love. We don’t blame you – we love the show just as much.
But you may not be able to access it at all times, so what can you do about that?
First, you should realize Lost in Space is available on Netflix – so if you can watch Netflix, you can watch Lost in Space. But what if you happen to live or travel to a place (country) where Netflix is not available. That’s the point of this article – to show you how you can watch the popular TV show from just about everywhere.
But first, let’s see…
What Lost in Space all about?
The “modern” Lost in Space television series is a reimagining of the 1965 series of the same name, which itself is a reimagining of the 1812 novel The Swiss Family Robinson.
The series’ plot takes place in the aftermath of an impact event that threatens the survival of humanity. The Robinson family is selected for the 24th mission of the Resolute (24th Colonist Group), an interstellar spacecraft carrying selected families to colonize the Alpha Centauri star system.
Before they reach their destination, an alien robot breaches the Resolute’s hull. Forced to evacuate the mothership in short-range Jupiter spacecraft, scores of colonists — among them the Robinsons — crash on a nearby habitable planet. There, they must contend with a strange environment and battle their own personal demons as they search for a way back to the Resolute.
The show is written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, with Zack Estrin serving as showrunner. Netflix released the series on April 13, 2018, renewing it the following month for a second season. The second season was released in full on December 24, 2019.
How to watch Lost in Space from anywhere
As noted above, in order to be able to watch Lost in Space, you will need a Netflix account. If you don’t have Netflix in your country, you’ll need a VPN in order to first open a Netflix account and then stream Lost in Space — as well as all other content in Netflix’s vast library.
The situation is similar if you just want to travel to a country where Netflix isn’t available — you will need a VPN to connect to a server in your home country to be able to keep access to your favorite TV shows.
But let’s focus on the first group of users… You will have to get a good VPN and then connect to a server in a country where Netflix is available, such as the US, UK, Canada and so on. Most users want access to Netflix’s US catalog and that’s what we suggest as well.
Once that part is done, you should fire-up your web browser and head over to Netflix’s website. Sign-up there with some fictional information and you’re good to go. Now, you can watch all the movies and TV shows you like, as much as you like.
The best part is that once you sign-up with Netflix, you will also be able to access it on other devices — not just your computer. On those “other devices,” you will also need to a VPN app, which isn’t a problem since all the best VPNs include clients for all popular platforms — both desktop and mobile.
And voila… before you know it, you are ready to join the Lost in Space adventures.
Use VPN for other things, as well
In addition to letting you access Netflix TV shows such as Lost in Space, a VPN app can also do other things for you. For start, it will let you anonymously surf the web so that government agencies and major corporations can’t track your online whereabouts. You will also be able to access other websites and services that could otherwise be outside of your reach — think Disney+, BBC iPlayer, Hulu Plus and so on. Furthermore, a VPN will encrypt all your online data, thus shielding you from hackers and spies — which is especially important when connecting to public Wi-Fi hotspots.
A VPN app can be installed on your computer, smartphone, tablet and other devices. Also, some services include router support, allowing you to protect your entire home or office network so that smart TVs, gaming consoles and streaming boxes also benefit from a more secure connection. Heck, you may want to enjoy Lost in Space on your big smart TV rather than on a computer screen.
To sum it up, we think everyone should run a VPN app on his/her computers and mobile devices. And if you’re into Lost in Space, we suggest you start by checking our list of Best VPNs for Netflix.
