How to Change VPN Location?

Changing your VPN location is as easy as connecting to a different VPN server...

VPN location

Recently, one of our readers sent us an email to ask how to change her VPN location. We were glad we could help as doing that is rather easy. Before going into details, let us answer one question…

Why would you want to change your VPN location?

There are many reasons why you would want to change your VPN location, including:

  • To access a site or (streaming?) service that is limited to people living in one country (or a few countries)
  • To bypass government censorship
  • To access a distant server that doesn’t allow connections from your place (country)
  • To benefit from a deal that is reserved for locals in some place
  • To join an online gaming tournament that is reserved only for folks playing from certain locations

As you can see, there are quite a few reasons why someone would want to change his/her VPN location and, consequently, his/her IP address. And, as noted above, we’re glad to say that it is easy to do that with good VPNs.

Check out the server list

In order to change your VPN location, you’ll have to go to the server list in your VPN app. It could be under “Servers” or under “Network.” In any case, it shouldn’t be hard to find.

Once on that list, all you have to do is select a country and perhaps even a city for your new VPN connection. Then, you should click or tap “Connect,” and you’re good to go.

You may haven’t seen it, as many VPNs start by showing you the “Recommended Server,” which tends to be in your vicinity. They do this because when you connect to that (nearby) server, you’ll get the best possible experience — which includes blazing-fast download speeds, stability, and more.

And on to our final point…

The best VPNs come with hundreds, if not thousands, of servers, which means more choices for you. VPNs with such wide networks also tend to deliver an overall better experience for the user. And this, again, translates to the (fast) speed and stability of your connection. As a result, you will be able to access any website or service you’d like and roam the Internet without anyone knowing a thing about it.

If you still haven’t found yourself a good VPN, now’s the time to change that. Hop over to our page with the Best of the Best VPNs and take it from there. We’re sure that between those few services, you will find the one that fits your unique needs. And yes, as we are always saying, you can always send us a “thank you note” later. We love reading those. 😉
