How to Watch grown-ish From Anywhere

The popular show isn't available all across the world, except if you use a VPN; then you can watch whatever you like...

grown-ish

Grown-ish is popular, really popular… What started a single series spinoff from Black-ish is now in its third season, with the fourth one coming next year. So yes, we understand why you would want to watch it.

Alas, that is easier said than done, especially if you don’t live in the U.S. Heck, even if you’re an American, you’ll have a hard time keeping up with Zoey when traveling abroad. You’ll need a tool to stay connected… You’ll need a VPN…

But first, for those uninitiated – let’s briefly describe what grown-ish is all about…

grown-ish 101

Grown-ish (or as they put it: grown·ish) is a sitcom series and a spinoff of the ABC series Black-ish. It is a single-camera comedy that follows the Johnsons’ eldest daughter Zoey (Yara Shahidi) as she goes to college, begins her journey to adulthood but quickly discovers that not everything goes her way once she leaves the nest. Also starting in the show are Deon Cole, Trevor Jackson, Francia Raisa, Emily Arlook, Jordan Buhat, Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey, Luka Sabbat, and Chris Parnell.

In the U.S., grown-ish airs on Freeform, which officially ordered 13 episodes of the (Black-ish) spin-off in May 2017, which premiered on January 3, 2018. In January 2018, Freeform renewed the series for a second season of 21 episodes and it premiered on January 2, 2019. In February 2019, Freeform yet again renewed the series for a third season which premiered on January 16, 2020. In January 2020, the series was renewed for a fourth season.

How to watch grown-ish in the U.S.

As noted above, you can catch it on Freeform on your cable TV. However, if you don’t have a cable subscription — which is becoming a thing these days — you can keep up with grown-ish through Hulu. The problem, however, begins when you leave the country (for one reason or another) and would like to keep watching the show. Then, you’ll need a VPN to fool Hulu’s servers into thinking that you’re in the U.S. — while in reality, you may be on the completely opposite side of the planet.

Which brings us to our next section…

How to watch grown-ish outside of the U.S.

There’s a slim chance that the country you’re visiting airs grown-ish on one of its local channels and that it even provides online access to the series. That, however, is unlikely and in order to keep up with Zoey’s adventures – you’ll need a VPN and access to Hulu.

To make things more complicated, Hulu won’t take non-US credit cards, so you’ll first have to trick it only to sign-up for the service. For that, you should use a Hulu gift card that can be purchased from places such as MyGiftCardSUPPLY.com (our favorite site for gift cards).

Grab that gift card, connect to a US-based server with a VPN, and visit Hulu’s website to sign-up for the service. Now you will have to add the gift card balance to your account, and you’re good to go. Grown-ish, along with all other Hulu content, is now accessible to you. It’s actually rather easy and you get to access more high-quality video than you can watch. So yes, it’s worth the money.

Don’t use a VPN just to watch grown-ish…

While we have nothing against the show, we think VPN should be used for just about anything, not just for watching your favorite TV series.

For start, with a good VPN — you get to regain your privacy, making it next to impossible for governments and corporations to follow you online. In other words, you get anonymity to browse the web, download files, and do just about anything you ever wanted without worrying that someone’s looking over your shoulder.

Furthermore, a VPN lets you stay connected to popular news sites and social media services while traveling to high-censorship countries.

Related to the previous point, you also get to conduct your business in a secure manner, connecting from previously defined IP addresses (or IP ranges) to your office wherever it happens to be. Likewise, connecting to public Wi-Fi hotspots is no longer a risky endeavor, with VPN encrypting all communication between your device and the server (website). Which, again, is the same capability that prevents even your ISP from knowing what you’re doing online.

To sum it up, with VPN — you get online freedom. And that is pretty important. And that is why you need a VPN and you need it now. Start by going through our list of Best of the Best VPNs, pick one that fits your needs and take it from there. It’s easy-peasy. 😉
